Kufgem: Municipal Website Development

Selection of municipal web projects I contributed to as part of the Kufgem GmbH team. Focus: mockups/design, implementation in the GEM2GO CMS, editor training & accessibility.

Period:

  • 05–07/2020: Mandatory internship (FH Kufstein)
  • 08/2020–06/2021: Employed as a web developer at Kufgem GmbH (left after being accepted into the Austrian Armed Forces elite sports programme)

Tech/Tools: GEM2GO (RIS GmbH), SCSS, TypeScript/jQuery

In a nutshell (as part of the Kufgem team)

I designed mockups for municipalities, implemented them in the GEM2GO CMS and supported the roll-out. This included configuration (incl. the app), training for editors, sub-sites for municipal facilities, accessibility checks & training, and ongoing support/helpdesk.

Responsibilities (selection)

  • Mockups/redesigns for new and existing clients; close collaboration through to sign-off
  • Implementation of designs in GEM2GO and roll-out to the new site
  • Configuration, including the GEM2GO app
  • Training for website editors (main sites and sub-areas)
  • Sub-areas/sub-sites for facilities (e.g. works yard, nursery): dedicated navigation/colour scheme/logo, roles & permissions in the CMS; incl. staff training
  • Helpdesk/support: handling client tickets and questions
  • Accessibility checks (WCAG) incl. action plans, implementation & client reviews; delivered an accessibility training
